Research
I am currently working on my masters of science at the University of Wyoming in Chemical Engineering. My research is on coal gasification and Fischer Tropsch processes. The objectives of the research are to increase the reactivity of Wyoming coal and reduce the energy consumption needed for coal gasification. We will be using inexpensive high-efficiency nano-dispersion catalysts to improve the net energy output of integrated coal gasification. I am also varying feeds and process variables to Fischer Tropsch reactions to optimize products for conversion into fuels.

Background
I grew up in Cheyenne, Wyoming and have spent a great deal of time traveling around the state. I am very familiar with the Wyoming education system and the importance of getting children excited about science. I served as President of the Society of Women Engineers as an undergraduate and one of our main focuses was to get young women involved in science and technology fields. To the classroom I can bring a less formal education experience. I have worked with children in summer camps and been very involved with tutoring peers and younger friends and classmates. I really enjoy hands on demonstrations and experiments allowing children to learn through experience and question the processes.
